Day 3 of our magical, affordable girls trip in Florida!
Well this was another super fun day!
I set an alarm for 8:30am, tried to wake them with no luck so I figured hey, WHY AM I AWAKE so you better believe I shut off that alarm. We didn’t roll out of bed until 11. We decided that since it was pretty late already and the prime spots at the pool and the beach were taken, we’d make the most of our day around town. This was also a smart move for my sunburned leg.
Top down on the car, we headed a ways up the road to Sharky’s Beachfront Restaurant. I hate to give a bad review so let’s just say our service was stellar and the food was meh. Dining outside was wonderful with a good breeze and we were slathered in sunblock.
The drive was nice though super hot. But, I mean, you have to crank Party In The USA snd Space Oddity and sing along for everyone to hear. Once again, Anni was not amused. Lex was shielding the sun off of her with a frisbee. I agreed at the next stop we’d put the top up.
Next stop was Frozen Dune for some boba (bubble) tea that they had to have and drank maybe 1/4 of it because it was too pineapple-y.
Back up the strip the other way was Race City. Anyway, back to Race City. Go-karts, mini golf, all kinds of fun stuff. They rode festival-type rides, drove go-karts, drove bumper cars, roller coaster, glow in the dark mini golf, a fun house (which Anni got freaked out and ditched Lex who disappeared for 20+ minutes). We had a blast! I didn’t go on any rides but that doesn’t bother me. After my back surgery my riding days are over. I had a good run.
We were hot and tired after our long day so we picked up some Subway and headed back to the room. We debated going down to the dive in movie but we all decided we just wanted some alone time. As I type this, Lex is buried in blankets playing a phone game, Anni is on the balcony face timing with one of her BFF’s TJ, and I’m collecting my thoughts for this post and thankful we had a fun day.
They have also discovered that it’s pretty cool to charge things to the room without Mom there to sign...and come back from our resort quickie mart with a bag full of junk food.
I gotta say it was a good day...
