Well that was a whirlwind but I made it!
I landed in Bangalore around 2am. I breezed through immigration and grabbed my bags. Nisha and Sumanth were waiting for me at the closest they could get without having a ticket. It was so good to see her! Some friendships just pick up where they left off.
They dropped me at the hotel at around 3am. I slept for a bit and took a shower. I tried to sleep. Street dogs woke me up because their howling sounded like an owl. Weirdest noise I’ve ever heard. Then back up and out the door at 630 to catch a flight to Delhi with them.
We flew IndiGo for our domestic flight to Delhi. Boarding went surprisingly fast for this budget-friendly airline. The plane was clean, comfortable, comparable to Allegiant Air in the States. Uneventful flight. It’s been awhile since I had to park not at a gate and use a bus to get to the terminal. It’s always a little hectic locating your bags, and none of this was bad.
We went to the hotel first to rest and have lunch. We’re staying at the Hotel Nirvana. I’m happy to report I’ve only used western toilets and showers thus far-and here I was worried.
Delhi is…a dirty city. Trash is everywhere.
More later. I’m exhausted.
