This is our Dubai Travel Itinerary and Review - for day 3 at the Burj Khalifa.
We opted for the buffet for breakfast instead of the lounge. Outside dining was an experience. Anyone who is afraid of large birds or crow looking birds need not even attempt. They dive bombed us a few times, flying off with watermelon and turkey bacon. That was all until the working falcon came out with his handler. Man, everyone bailed after that.
We hung by the pool for a few hours and dined outside. No birds bothered us and we didn’t see the falcon. Maybe the birds are scared by outdoor fans?
Ed and Lex went to the top of Burj Khalifa, the worlds tallest building. 163 floors with an extra 46 for maintenance. Annicakes and I shopped the mall, had ice cream, and just enjoyed our time together.
Lol in souvenir shop. Foreign guy asks me, “Mother, would you like a shawl?” I thought it was cute to call me "Mother".
Walking around the mall, there are tour guides walking holding up the flag like at the Vatican or Sydney Opera House.
Also, every few hours they begin to sing an Islamic prayer, played over the speakers in the malls. It’s played outside too while in the city. Very cool.
Dinner was at Serafina, an Italian restaurant. We sat right on the water at the Dubai Fountain for dinner. Very much like the fountain show in Vegas. The Dubai Fountain evening show takes place every 30 minutes from 6 pm to 11 pm daily. They also had a projection show right on the Burj Khalifa. The kids were in awe. Admittedly, I was too.
