Time in Port: 8pm - 12am
So overnight I thought we were legit going to die. I woke up to the room smelling like exhaust or something. The balcony door was shut and it was blowing into our room. I opened the balcony door to get fresh air and started Googling at 2am about carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. I woke up Ed, he was annoyed, and went back to sleep. Yeah, well, lucky for you, buddy, my anxiety kicked in and saved us!
Spoiler alert-we’re still alive.
We had a late breakfast, played some bingo, pac
ked the bulk of our suitcases, had lunch, took a nap. Yep. Exciting, right? Woke up and packed more.
We opted to have our bags forwarded to the airport which means our bags have to be out of our room by 11pm. Our excursion isn’t done until 11pm so we had to put our bags out early before we even left for the evening activities. This was a nice add-on feature
Tonight we docked in Victoria, BC for a foodie crawl, tour, whatever you’d like to call it. We walked forever at a very brisk pace then boarded a water taxi to the city.
We saw Canada’s oldest Chinatown including FanTan Alley. This was a neat area.
First stop: a brew house. They gave us a cocktail of nitro cold brew, vodka, and something else. It’s 9pm and we’re all starved. We’re supposed to have a snack!
Yes, it is always about food with me.
We only hit 2 stops. We were on one “cobblestone” road that was really wood and not stone. We were on the most haunted area in Canada.
Overall, I liked seeing the city but not the tour itself. At the end the tour dude basically says, "Well, this is the end. Take a bus back." We had no idea how to get back. It was getting late, the ship would be leaving soon, and we did catch a bus but sat on the steps on the bus (very safe) in order to get back in time.
We ate when we eventually got back on the boat, then crashed. Yes, it is always about food with me.
