Agra to Jaipur

Getting out of town this morning seemed challenging. It’s so busy. So many people walking, out in cars, bikes, etc. Watch the traffic videos I posted. It’s insane. I saw this guy riding a bike with trees on it. Like how?! I wish I snapped a pic.

We stopped by a fort on the way out of Agra. Fatehpur Sikri.  Absolutely massive. I sat in the shade while Nisha and Sumanth walked around. It’s like 95 degrees.

Vehicles tie thread to them. It’s a spiritual thing. Pretty neat. It can stand for a lot of things like warding off evil spirits or gaining financial prosperity.

I had a blood sugar drop and got really sick. After a few cookies and some cold water and moving to the front seat I was better. I was freaked out. Nisha saved the day!

I’d like to give a shout out to our driver, Vinod. I think that’s how you spell it. He doesn’t speak but a handful of English. I like him a lot. He’s friendly.

More cows on the highway just laying down chilling. This cracks me up because why not I suppose? I saw a bunch of guys standing on the back of a truck hanging on with the truck going around 50mph. A sight to be seen.

We stopped for lunch and I had a paneer (Indian cheese chunks) in curry with cashews and some buttered roti (bread). Delicious.

We finished the car ride and made it to Jaipur, the pink city. Hopefully I’ll have better pictures tomorrow of why it’s dubbed the pink city.  I was pretty tired from the glycemic crash earlier. I went back and rested while they went out.   Later, we had a wonderful dinner at the hotel. I had a pan seared fish (no spice) and it was amazing.   We ventured out to try and shop and went to a huge shopping mall with high end stores but I wanted to buy local. We left, looked for the local shops but they were closed.  We decided to call it a night and come back to the hotel.
